پرسپولیس داستان دختری را روایت می‌کند که در جریان انقلاب ایران و سال‌های جنگ با عراق به تشویق خانواده از کشور خارج می شود و به اروپا مهاجرت می‌کند

در پی اعتراضاتی که پخش این فیلم به دنبال آورد، کانال تلویزیونی "نسمه" به خاطر نمایش آن از مردم تونس عذرخواهی کرده بود.

آقای القروی گفته بود اطلاع نداشته است که "در فیلم، ذات پروردگار تجسید" شده است. او تأکید کرد که مسلمان است و به عقاید دینی احترام می‌گذارد. او گفت به عنوان یک "مسلمان" از برخی "خطوط قرمز" آگاه است و می‌داند که همه رسانه‌های جمعی باید آنها را رعایت کنند.

آقای القروی همچنین توضیح داده بود که فیلم "پرسپولیس" پیش‌تر در برخی از سینماهای تونس به نمایش در آمده و با هیچ اعتراضی روبرو نشده بود. او این اتهام را که کانال "نسمه" قصد داشته به احساسات مسلمانان توهین کند یا به نیروهای اسلامگرا ضربه بزند، کاملا نادرست دانست.

فیلم "پرسپولیس" با دوبله عربی و با لهجه عامیانه تونسی از کانال "نسمه" پخش شده بود.

فیلمی 'ضدایرانی'

فیلم پرسپولیس بر پایه داستانی کارتونی از مرجان ساتراپی ساخته شده است که نخست به صورت کتاب انتشار یافت و با موفقیت زیادی روبرو شد.

داستان طنزآمیز "پرسپولیس" روایت سرگذشت دختری ایرانی از خانواده‌ای آزاداندیش و بافرهنگ است که پس از انقلاب سال ۱۳۵۷ ایران را ترک می‌کند و برای تحصیل به اتریش می‌رود.

در داستان "پرسپولیس" فراز و نشیب‌های انقلاب ایران، سرکوب انقلابیون چپ و ملی، چیرگی جناح انحصارطلب اسلامی به رهبری آیت‌الله خمینی بر حاکمیت، جنگ ایران و عراق و بحران سیاسی در کشور با زبانی دلنشین و طنزآمیز تصویر شده است.

فیلم "پرسپولیس" در سال ۲۰۰۷ جایزۀ ویژه هیئت داوران را در جشنواره سینمایی بین‌المللی کن دریافت کرد و نمایش عمومی آن در اروپا با استقبالی گرم روبرو شد.

معاونت سینمایی "وزارت فرهنگ و ارشاد اسلامی" در سال ۱۳۸۶ در نامه‌ای به دفتر رایزن فرهنگی سفارت فرانسه در تهران، به نمایش این فیلم در جشنواره سینمایی کن اعتراض کرد. همچنین "بنیاد سینمایی فارابی" در اطلاعیه‌ای فیلم "پرسپولیس" را اثری "ضدایرانی" دانست که هدف آن تخریب افکار عمومی در جهان علیه جمهوری اسلامی ایران است.

مرجان ساتراپی این اتهامات را رد کرد و در جریان جشنواره کن، جایزه خود را به مردم ایران تقدیم کرد.
